In the strengthening sunset (Lorde)

My sensitivity creates technique (Sigo)

The sun 1 & 2

the left pages of my notebooks have become where I chart quotes, references I need to come back to, its not poetry on that side but becomes it later, bits of research and homework from friends.

staying at the Albert Hotel in Greenwich Village - with a comfortable life I write comfortable poems - I didn’t have the urge to write when I traveled back then instead engrained certain moments: small birds on a railing, a slate road way of many feet. see the notebook is not a place to hide from yourself. I compartmentalize easily though.

Himes leaves for Europe in 1953 after negative response to Lonely Crusade - crime novels began in the 1950s - spiritual realism - domestic stories. It’s more of the facts over there on the left page. Less words too, or only a few but big. when I come back through they are easier to remember then and become landmarks for my way through each past journal. dawn needs nothing else - can J step back in while D is gone for the two weeks of close?

our skeleton truth in our crowded closet, took the doors off to let it all breathe. rip Duane Pasco - a good teacher must be entertaining - that feels negligent you haven’t watched Simenon movies - an era of over the top costumes.
